Symbol design

I wanted to design a symbol family of musical instruments, so I started first with designing brass instruments. I wanted the design language of the instruments to include both halftones and layered transparency, but I also didn’t want to overcomplicate the design. I created the vectors of the instruments by studying the forms of the instruments first and simplifying them. I used halftones for the largest part of the instruments and had each piece of the instrument layer on top of each other to create layers of transparency.
